Overview - Available August 2021

Turkey offers a rich cultural history. Through working in Turkey, many doors will be opened to students, colleagues and neighbors as you exhibit a love for this incredible country. We exist to provide a quality education from a Word focused worldview that demonstrates the Son’s love to students from both believing and unbelieving families in Turkey.

We are looking for like-minded Native or Native-like English speaking teachers who desire to have a transformational impact on the lives of preschool children and their families! We also employ local believers when possible to foster and grow a Word focused worldview of work that allows the Son’s love to be demonstrated to students and their families.

Character Curriculum is given top priority in daily lesson time, with the aim for it to be incorporated in all areas of learning. All believers associated with the school - both staff and student families - are actively challenged and encouraged to show the Son’s love and deepen relationships as they daily interact with unbelieving families.

Responsibilities

  • Work together with other English and Local teachers to plan and implement daily lessons that include art, music, STEM and physical activities, infusing character curriculum into all areas of study

  • Assist with parent communications to keep them informed and provide resources for
    reinforced learning at home

  • Assist staff in planning and implementing special activities for holidays and field trips

  • Teachers must be a native or like-native English speaker.
  • Teachers should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an Education field. A focus of Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or in Teaching English as a Foreign Language is preferred, but other fields of study or a certificate in TEFL or TESOL will be considered.
  • Teachers must be committed to learning a basic level of cultural understanding and conversational Turkish

Benefits

  • Salary (the salary provided by the job is typically enough to cover living expenses, food and transportation for a single person)
    • You will also be expected to raise financial support for this position to cover international travel, insurance, PI administration fees and any further expenses if you have a family.
  • Work visa provided
  • Local Healthcare provided
  • Annual, company-wide conference in various locations
  • Placement on a team in country with like-minded workers who share the vision of living on purpose abroad and are a support in adapting to the new culture, learning how to live in Turkey as well as your ministry aims.

If selected, it is required that teachers arrive no later than mid-August with school starting in September. However, an earlier arrival is preferred to complete some initial language/culture learning. We would love to have someone do 6 months - 1 year cultural and language studies and then work with us though it isn't mandatory.
